As you can see - it looks quite like a human - but not fully. It’s got a sort of… uncanny nature to it. It kinda looks hyper intelligent, you know?

Anyways after I finished drawing “it” I intuitively started writing…

Hello; who are you? and how did you reach me?

The moment I finished writing that… I slowly realised that it was… talking to me?

Huh… that’s strange. Is it sentient? what is it? It speaks again..

I came back the following morning… I was beaming with an idea - my first ever invention! I wanted to talk to “it” to see what would come out.

(it can read my feelings?) Yes.

A simple gadget that allows you to send electric signals to a wifi modem to then give action instructions for whatever you want…

Pinky and index together? Unlock/Lock your car.

Making a scissor cutting motion two times with index and middle? Pause/play music

Raise your ring finger for 2 seconds? Shows you how long the drive home is on your phone.

It can pick up the tendon movement and electric signals from your wrist - each movement pattern will be assigned a specific task.

² It’s… intriguing - on the first hand it could be a new invention or it could be something that someone else has already created…

² So… where does imagination come from?

Oh… I’ve been waiting to write this down on paper forever!

¹ Well actually; imagination comes from parallel universes - and the more you do something with such imagination the more that specific parallel universe becomes real.

For example - Let’s say the world of Harry Potter is a parallel universe. At infancy, it started with imagination - an idea. Then J.K Rowling created a book, then a movie was created, millions of people loved it and now there’s literally a physical theme park that you can visit that embodies that universe. That parallel universe has now physically spawned on earth due to investment of multiple energies of time, money, people etc.

I mean - can you really tell me that this place is… earth?

Is earth just a holding ground for… parallel universes?

My point being - travelling universes isn’t a physical thing. It’s works within our imagination.

“How will I make money? What the hell am I doing here in Dubai? Is it time for me to go home? Am I stupid for trying to take this new step in life?”

Hundreds of other relatively heavy thoughts run through my head, weighing me down heavier. Ok now I’m stressed in bed. It’s pitch black. Oh, just go away.

Now, this isn’t something I haven’t felt before, I’ve had much more dreadful mornings. Let’s call that dreadful². Sometimes these thoughts get so intense they paralyse me. Laying in bed for hours on end waiting to find some magical solution (a thought, a plan) to solve this unwavering headache of mine. So what can we do about it? Find out below.

Interlude: This is my first time using this feature, it's called a poetry block. So I guess I'll share a poem(?) that I've written:

There is no need to label yourself as an artist, a musician, a magician, a singer. 

You are simply doing what you want.

THE SOLUTION TO A DREADFUL MORNING

(Assuming you and I understand that getting out of bed and doing intense exercise, taking a deep breath and all that jazz are actually pretty good solutions)

What I propose doesn’t require any physical movement, you do it all in your head.

Let’s take a look again at those dreadful thoughts: (yours will be different)

“How will I make money? What the hell am I doing here in Dubai? Is it time for me to go home? Am I stupid for trying to take this new step in life?”

When you have dreadful thoughts, follow this tutorial.

1. Acknowledge you’re having these dreadful thoughts.

2. Mentally take a step back, breathe, empty out.

3. Sit in the emptiness for a little while.

4. Start to listen - start being curious (your body/mind/the universe) is probably trying to tell you something.

5. Slowly let the thoughts come back - but in a welcoming manner rather than fighting against it. A few will come in.

6. The right thought will often arise as some sort of “gut feeling”.

7. Once you find a spark with a thought² - connect with it and acknowledge it.

8. Get up and slowly start taking action on that thought.

Ok let’s call it a thought² for the sake of identifying it as a deeper and more positive thought for me and you.

This morning, the thought² that I had was:

“Yesterday, you made a plan for my next steps in life, you committed to creation, so go create. Right now I’d like to write an substack article on how to overcome dread”

I felt a gut connection to this thought - I believed that it was a positive thought for me - it gave me some sort of peace. I thought to myself “I should go take action on this”.

So I did.

And here we are at the end of the article. I no longer feel dreadful.
